Denver's Cuisine Scene

The jewel of the Rockies has for long been considered the bastion of down home cooking and comfort food movement. But today it is at the forefront of fusion cuisine where the best of the country are flocking to transform the restaurant scene. The warmer climate means people venture out to restaurants all throughout the year and we certainly hope that after trying gaining an insider’s welcome into some of our restaurant partners, you will want to experience a new-found appreciation of the gourmet movement here.

Featured Neighborhoods

LoDo (Lower Downtown)

• LoDo is the affectionate name that Denverites call the Lower Downtown Historic District which is indeed the city’s birthplace and today is the epicenter of all activity in Denver.
• Did you know that Denver is one of the two cities in America with eight professional sports teams which all reside right here in Downtown Denver.
• Though it is widely rumored that somewhere below the environs of Larimer Square exists a passage way that was used by turn of the century criminals, our tour will avoid introducing you to this unique terrain.

Cherry Creek

• At times referred to as the other downtown in Denver, Cherry Creek certainly has a flair and style of its own as a vibrant and colorful neighborhood
• Did you know that another body of water named Cherry Creek, a tributary of the Cheyenne River in South Dakota, does not have as many fancy restaurants.
• Though some people think of the word “Mall” and “Cherry Creek” in the same breath, we are quite positive that our tour will convince you there is so much more to this amazing neighborhood.

Highlands

• Highlands is a cove of cozy restaurants, novelty stores and martini bars just outside the bustle of Downtown Denver with a bohemian flair that evokes images of Greenwhich Village in Manhattan.
• Did you know that when established over a century ago the Highlands was an elite suburb that looked down (literally and figuratively) upon the dirty, smoggy and crime ridden city of Denver.
• Even though some of our tours in the Highlands District will occasionally introduce you to the fancy stepchild that is LoHi, the restaurants involved will still strive to make you feel like a part of the family.

 
Meet Your Denver Manager - - Carrie Terry

Carrie was born and raised in Denver where she grew up with a dedicated interest in sports. In particular, she excelled in athletics which gave her the opportunity through scholarships to further her education at University of Colorado. While completing her education, she augmented her professional skills by planning events and coordinating marketing efforts for a reputed firm in Denver, CO. 

Prior to joining TheCityTour, Carrie was instrumental in introducing and launching the Denver operations of a nationwide firm that works exclusively with high-end restaurants. She cultivated an innate love for the culinary industry and the gourmet establishments that espouse it. She brings an outgoing, creative, and high energy vibe to TheCityTour - Denver and is excited to share her love for the city's restaurant scene with you.
