Frequently Asked Questions

When are the tours offered?  How long are they?
Generally they are offered on the weekends (Saturdays are more popular than Sundays) in the afternoon or early evening.  Other timings may be added in the future.  To see what's available right now, simply select a city on the left and scroll down to see open tours.

Is there a long wait list to book a tour?
We carefully forecast our bookings and increase our volume of tours as needed to ensure that there is almost always a tour available within a few weeks at any given time.  No month-long wait lists here!
To see what's available right now, simply select a city on the left and scroll down to see open tours - most cities have dozens of open tours right now!

Is the food or drink included or is that extra?
Can I purchase additional food/drink if I wish to?

The tour is all inclusive - there are no additional fees for the samples.  Since our restaurant partners plan their presentation and sample offering ahead of time, our schedule is fairly packed for the 30 minutes that you will be spending with them which doesn't allow for extra time to individually order food or drinks.  You are always welcome to come back and visit them at a later point and some of them offer special deals to our guests when they return.  Additionally, many of our participants elect to stay after the tour concludes at the final restaurant for a larger bite or drink.

How much food is included?
Generally we suggest you have a light lunch before the tour.  You will be eating and sampling each restaurant's cuisine along the way.

What is the appropriate age for the tour? Is alcohol served?  Do you have to be 21?
You do NOT need to be 21 to attend.  However, since some of our restaurant partners do offer alcohol pairing with the gourmet tastings, it is not the appropriate environment for children of a younger age.  Mature teenagers with an inherent appreciation for the gourmet experience could still enjoy the tour and simply fore-go the alcohol tastings.

What if I have special dietary restrictions?
The restaurants on our tour like to showcase their offerings to our tour attendees and as such we prefer not to interfere in their menu selection so as to give the chef's artistic freedom. We are hopeful that our guests with dietary restrictions will find tastes to their liking - and often the on-site chef can whip up something that fit our guest's needs - but we can't guarantee what will be served by our restaurant partners in advance.

Are your tours handicap accessible?
Most of our partner restaurants are a few blocks from each. Though some of our restaurants are handicap accessible we cannot guarantee such for the convenience of anyone since we do replace our restaurants continually.

What if I need to cancel my tour? Will you refund my money or can I rebook it?
Our cancellation policy is 4 weeks prior to the day of the tour which allows us some time to fill the cancelled spot with someone else such that our restaurants partners receive a minimum number of guests as per our agreement with them. If cancelled within outside of our 4 week window, you can certainly re-book the tour. Also your tour reservation is completely transferable. If you are unable to attend for some reason then perhaps you can transfer your booking  to a fellow foodie.

Is it okay if I come by myself? Would that be odd?
We often have guests who come by themselves to enjoy the experience. The tour creates a sense of community that can be enjoyed by ones looking to meet fellow foodies while still respecting the privacy of ones that are looking to just enjoy the experience in its entirety.

Can you tell me the name of the restaurants on your tours?
We introduce the restaurants on the day of the tour - half the fun is showing up and discovering what's on the tour that day!  We typically have a number of restaurants in each neighborhood from which we pick four for a particular day. This helps us accommodate our restaurant partners if they are unable to host for some reason (last minute private party booking or mishap in the kitchen, etc).   But to give you an idea of the types of restaurants generally found on our tours ... think undiscovered neighborhood gems and Gastropubs, Fine Dining establishments and French bistros, Crepe shops and locally owned Tapas restaurants.
